Carter Lake is nearly three miles long and over a mile wide, and a perfect place for any number of watersports and outdoor activities. The lake is located just west of Loveland and Denver. Part of the Colorado-Big Thompson Project, the lake is used to help divert water to the west slope for drinking, hydropower and the irrigation of crops.
